How does it work

Send us an email with your psychological complaints, your name, address and phone number.

If online treatment is desirable, an introductory meeting will be scheduled.

You will receive a link to enter the conference room on the scheduled day.

You are not required to download any software to enter the platform.

Initial interview

During the initial interview we will determine whether your request for treatment online treatment can be  granted.

You will have the opportunity to determine whether video calling can work for you and of course a match with the psychologist is important.

An appropriate referral will be sought if therapy should not start for one of the above reasons.

Individual treatment

During conversations we try to gain insights. Sometimes it occurs that the psychologist gives you assignments.

The treatment is based on evidenced-based theories and techniques. To gain an objective view of the psychological difficulties, you may be asked to complete questionnaires.

Team

Selien Hoessen, who graduated from Ghent University in 2009, is a certified clinical psychologist with extensive experience in various settings. She began her career in a psychiatric center, working in both admission and treatment departments. There, she supported patients with chronic mood disorders, addictions, personality disorders, and eating disorders.

After her work in psychiatry, Selien spent over ten years in a General Hospital in Ghent, serving as a primary care psychologist in the 'psychologist consultation' department. She was responsible for the care and support of patients with psychological issues hospitalized in various departments (liaison psychiatry). She also conducted psychological group therapies on the psychiatric unit of the general hospital and provided support for individuals who attempted suicide, working several years with the Mobile Crisis Team.

In 2012, Selien started a private practice for outpatient psychological care within a general practitioner's office in Wondelgem. She focuses mainly on mild to moderate psychological issues, adhering to primary care psychology principles. Due to her extensive experience, she also supports patients with more complex issues.

Selien her approach is eclectic, with a strong preference for cognitive-behavioral therapies. She further specialized in schema therapy, her preferred therapeutic framework.

.My English might be a bit quirky, but if you're okay with a few charming mistakes, I'd be delighted to chat with you in English!

Inès Bekhakh is a licensed psychologist. She studied at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, where she obtained both a Bachelor’s (2013) and a Master’s (2015) degree in clinical psychology. She started her career in both psychiatric and general hospitals, where she gained experience in the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, personality problems and obsessive-compulsive disorders. She has also completed specialist training in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and a basic training in Schema Therapy. In 2020 she started her own practice as a clinical psychologist in Ghent. Due to a move abroad, she decided to focus on online therapy and psychological counselling.

In her work she uses a behavioural approach. During the intake, she takes the time to listen carefully to your request for help and works with you to draw up a provisional treatment plan. This treatment plan serves as a guide for further therapeutic collaboration. In her practice, Inès places great emphasis on the client's active involvement in the process. This means that certain techniques can be practised during the sessions or that the client is given specific tasks to do outside of therapy after the session. The ultimate goal is always to find lasting solutions that meet the client's needs.
